Halloween Witch Hat Calzones

Calzone Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Dice up the pepperoni - some for the brim of the hat & some for the filling.

If using in the filling, dice up peppers & onions.

Saute sausage, then drain.

Then saute peppers & onions until soft.

While cooking the sausage & peppers, grate the cheese.

Then, combine cheeses, spices, sausage, & peppers.

Add pepperoni if using.

Lay out 4 crescent roll triangles.

Place the other 4 off to the side.

Tip: Crescent rolls are not always evenly sized. Try to match similarly sized triangles so you have tops & bottoms to fit each other.

Whisk together an egg & water to make the egg wash.

Paint the edges of the crescent rolls to make the glue to hold the top down.

Then add filling, stopping near the egg wash. Do not over stuff.

Lay down the top layer, pressing the edges to seal, then egg wash.

Sprinkle with seasoning & fold up the brim. Add pepperoni.

Then bake for 8-10 minutes.

Remove from oven when golden.

Be careful when shaping the calzones... sometimes they come out looking... interesting 🧐

This one reminds me of the sorting hat from Harry Potter!

Serve with marinara sauce.
