Easy Oven Baked French Fries are coated in olive oil, tossed in delicious seasoning, and baked until crispy. They are so easy to make, and when served with a burger and delicious dipping sauce – they are so good.
These delicious baked french fries are just like store-bought French fries, but better because they are homemade and baked with love by you! And they are pretty easy to make. They are great to serve on the side with a blue cheeseburger or grilled chicken – or even with some barbecue pork chops!
Homemade French Fry Ingredients

- Paprika
- Salt
- Pepper
- Rosemary
How to Make Baked French Fries
To make them, wash and cut your potatoes to about ¼” – ½” width. I don’t peel the potatoes for this recipe. I think they are better with the skin, and I usually leave the skin on potatoes when I can. Not only do I like the taste of the potato with the skins, there are a lot of healthy benefits to eating them that way! :o)
Before starting on the potatoes, preheat your oven to 400°F. Here is a little tip to make the french fries a little crispier…place your baking sheet in the oven while the oven is preheating.
I would also suggest covering your baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. That helps with easy clean-up. (This tip is great for this potato recipe or when baking store-bought french fries.) Just be careful when adding the potatoes to the baking sheet…remember the pan will be hot.
Whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and rosemary in a large bowl until the ingredients are combined. Toss the potatoes in the olive oil mixture until they are completely covered with the olive oil. Add a little more olive oil after they have been tossed if they look a little dry.
Place them on your covered baking sheet. Bake them at 400°F for 25 minutes. If you prefer them to be crispier, bake them for an additional five minutes.
These Baked French Fries can be eaten as is or, if you prefer, dipped in delicious sauces. Some of our favorites are Copycat Raising Cane’s Sauce, blue cheese, ranch dressing, or just regular old ketchup. Whichever one is your favorite. In my house, all three are winners depending on who you ask.

Hello. Thanks for this recipe. I wanted so much to try this. Only problem is, we dont have an oven at home. Haha. But we have a Turbo broiler. Can I use that? It only has til 250 temperature. So.. hmm
Hi Kate,
I have to say I have never used a Turbo broiler so I am not sure on using that to cook potatoes in. My only suggestion would be to check the product manual. Sometimes they put cooking/baking information in there for the products. Good luck and I hope you will be able to try the recipe!
These look so delicious! I can’t wait to make them for the family!
Thanks Christy! I hope they all love them! :o)
