Candy Corn Party Mix Ingredient List
- Candy Corn – Be sure to buy regular candy corn for this recipe. They now make several different flavored candy corn candy, so be sure to buy the original one. (I like to stock up during candy corn season, so I can make this recipe any time of year, not just for Halloween parties.)
- Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- Peanuts – You can use salted peanuts or honey-roasted peanuts. (Use another kind of nuts if you have an allergy in the family.)
How to Make this Fall Snack Mix
Measure out equal parts of each ingredient. I usually do one cup of each for my family of four. (One cup of peanuts, one cup of candy corn, and one cup of chocolate chips.)
Combine all the ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl. Using a large spoon, gently toss the ingredients together.
Keep any leftovers in an airtight container.
That is all you need to do to make this quick and easy tasty treat!
Variations and Substitutions
If you are making this simple snack mix recipe for your fall parties, there are so many things that you can add to really jazz it up. You can add different variations of candy corn or candy pumpkins, some caramel corn, Chex cereal, or even some salty pretzels.
You could put each ingredient in small bowls and let your guests assemble their own party mix, or make it ahead of time as a party favor and give it out in small treat bags. The best part of this recipe is that you can make it however you like to make the perfect combination of your favorite fall flavors.
- Substitution for Peanuts: If you are not a fan of peanuts or if you have an allergy, almonds are a good substitute.
- Substitution for Chocolate Chips: Not a huge chocolate fan? A reader told me in the comment area that she used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips and that it tasted like a Payday candy bar!
- Double the Peanut Flavor: Double up on the delicious peanut flavor and add peanut butter chips to the mix.
- Add More Candy: Isn’t that what Halloween is all about? If you really want to get into the holiday spirit, add some Reese’s Pieces.
Recipe Tips
- When we make the recipe, we use one cup of each ingredient. While that amount works for my family of four, you should increase the amount if making this for a larger family or to take to a party. You just need equal parts of each ingredient.
- Store any of the leftovers of the mix in a covered container.
- This is a nice easy recipe to make for an Autumn or Halloween party. It is also perfect to snack on while watching the game or playing board games with the family.

I tried this last year and my kids loved it. My daughter saw the candy corn in the store and asked when can I make it this year. You know it is good when your kids ask for it again.
So happy to hear that Lily! Thanks for letting me know.
