Have you ever wondered about How to Cook Italian Sausage in the Oven? It is so easy to make and requires almost no effort or cleanup. Baked Italian Sausage is always cooked perfectly and comes out so juicy!
We love to add Italian sausage to so many dishes – like Cheesy Spaghetti, Baked Tortellini, or Crockpot Stuffed Peppers – really, any pasta dishes, sandwiches, and salads – and baking them ensures that they come out perfectly juicy every time. If you don’t have time to bake your sausages, you can also air fry Italian sausage.

- A Sheet Pan
- Aluminum Foil
- Italian Sausages – These instructions will work well for any sausages in casings – this is our favorite way to cook green onion sausages, brats, & homemade jalapeño cheddar sausages.
- An Oven

How to Bake Italian Sausage in the Oven
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Place the foil on the baking sheet and wrap it around the edges.
- Space your Italian Sausages about an inch apart so that heat can circulate around them. Do NOT poke holes in the sausages or all the juices will leak out.
- Place the pan in the center of the oven and bake the sausages for 30-35 minutes, flipping the sausages over halfway through baking, until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Let the sausages rest & cool for 3 – 5 minutes, then slice them up and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Do NOT poke holes in the sausages – the casing keeps the juices inside and poking holes will make it all leak out.
- Wrap your baking sheet with foil so you don’t have to do any dishes! You can also use a Silpat or reusable baking sheet, but you will have to wash grease off of it.
- Cook extra sausages so that you can have leftovers for lunch the next day!

Or our personal favorite use of these sausages, saute some fresh summer zucchini with garlic, onion, and olive oil, then add some homemade spaghetti sauce and cook until the zucchini is soft but still has a slight crunch. Pour over cooked cheese tortellini and serve with oven-cooked Italian sausage and top with fresh basil!
