This taco seasoning can be made in five minutes using ingredients you might already have in your pantry!
I have always liked tacos. But for some reason when I would use the store-bought taco seasoning mix, there was something I just did not like about the seasoning. So, I stopped making them...
Until the local taco truck got me hooked again! They had such a great flavor and used fresh cilantro…yum! I decided to try making tacos with homemade taco seasoning instead. And the results were amazing! Now we have been making tacos once a month!
This recipe is easy to prepare. Just combine all the ingredients together in a small bowl. Mix it up well. And…you’re done.
Why make your own taco seasoning?
- cut down on sodium
- cut out additives, preservatives, and coloring that you find in a store-bought package
It is not a hot and spicy seasoning, but just a great mix of flavors. So give this taco seasoning a try and you might start having a weekly taco night! Check out our Taco Night post for our taco recipe using this taco seasoning.
This recipe makes about 1/4 cup seasoning. If you are using this for tacos, you will use 2 teaspoons per one pound of ground beef. I use this amount for my family of four.
We have used this recipe not only with our tacos, but also with our taco salad and taco pizza recipes. If you love tacos, you should try these recipes. I think you will love them!
